Create Recruitment are exclusively partnering with an established design and production-to-delivery supplier specialising in women’s, men’s and children’s nightwear and loungewear, who are looking to appoint an experienced Garment Technologist to join their growing team.

Based in Islington, London, the business has a small, close-knit team covering design, pattern cutting, technical, merchandising and finance, supplying some of the UK’s leading high street and boutique brands. Due to continued expansion, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Garment Technologist to work closely with the UK team, customers and overseas factories, managing the technical process from the first proto sample through to production and ensuring garments are delivered to the highest standards.

The role will involve measuring and assessing fit samples, working closely with the in-house pattern cutter on amendments, creating garment specifications and factory packs, managing critical paths, and acting as the key technical contact for overseas factories on pattern, grading, fit and production queries. You will also manage garment testing and approvals and take responsibility for your own accounts, carrying out technical and investigative work throughout the production process.

We’re looking for someone with at least 8 years’ experience in a similar Garment Technologist role, with strong knowledge of pattern cutting, garment construction, grade rules, measuring and fitting, and different fabric bases. You should be confident making minor amendments to paper patterns, experienced in dealing directly with customers, and able to build strong working relationships with both customers and suppliers. Strong computer literacy, excellent organisational skills and confident communication are essential. Experience within nightwear is preferable but not essential.

This is a full-time hybrid position, with at least one day per week based in the Islington office and the remaining days available for remote working. Office requirements may vary from week to week, with some weeks requiring additional days in the office.

If you’re an experienced Garment Technologist looking for your next opportunity and would like to join a friendly, collaborative business with a great working atmosphere and spirit, Create Recruitment would love to hear from you.
